Sat., Jan. 10, 2004 FORT WAYNE, Ind. – University of Saint Francis guard Trey Eaton led four Cougars in double figures and teammate Cleevas Craig notched his third straight double double in a 102-85 win over Grace College in Mid-Central Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Hutzell Athletic Center. Eaton (Claypool, IN / Tippecanoe Valley) finished with 26 points, the sixth time this season the freshman has scored 20 or more points, to help the Cougars improve to 11-9 overall, 2-0 in MCC play. Craig, a junior, scored 11 points and hauled down 12 rebounds for USF. Another freshman, John Jamerson (Muncie, IN / Burris) added 17 points including two spectacular dunks. Chase Holden (Hamilton, IN / Hamilton) had 16 points, and John Gensic (Albion, IN / Bishop Dwenger) and Nick Ankenbruck (Fort Wayne / Homestead) added nine points apiece in the balance USF offensive. Tim Bailey and Leigh Batts led Grace (6-11, 0-2 MCC) with 18 points apiece. Eaton drilled a 3-pointer just before the first half buzzer that lifted USF to a 55-43 lead. The Cougars led by as many as 15 points, 41-26, on a 3-pointer by Nick Ankenbruck. GC led once at 2-0. USF shot 60 percent in the first half, 62 percent from 3-point range connecting on 8-of-13 shots. Overall USF hit 22-of-37 first-half shots. Eaton led USF scoring with 11 points in the first half. Gensic and Jamerson had nine points apiece. USF opened the second half with a 12-2 run to leave little doubt about the final outcome.
