Cougars breeze into Luxbury Championship game

     FORT WAYNE, Ind. - John Gensic led five University of Saint Francis players in double figures in a 101-66 win over IU Northwest in the second game of the Luxbury Cougar Challenge on Friday night.

   The Cougars (7-4) will play Lindsey Wilson for the championship at Hutzell Athletic Center on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Lindsey Wilson (8-2) advanced to the championship with an 85-70 win over IU-Southeast on Friday.

   Gensic (Fort Wayne / Bishop Dwenger) finished with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting. USF shot 62 percent (40 of 65) against the Red Hawks (0-11). Chase Holden (Hamilton / Hamilton) added 17 points for USF, Dusty Beucler (Churubusco / Churubusco) and Eric Pickrell (Fishers / Hamilton Southeastern) 12 apiece, and Jeremy Rice (Westfield / Westfield) had 10.
    Senior guard Jontae James (South Bend / LaSalle) had four assists and moved into fifth place on the USF career assist list with 385.

    Jeff Renn led IU Northwest with 15 points, Bill Taylor had 14, Preston Thomas 12 and Dave Hamstra 10.

   The Cougars led 53-29 at the half on 66 percent shooting (21 of 32). IU-Northwest --shot 40 percent (10 of 25).
