University
of Saint Francis senior Bart Schnur and freshman
Taylor Futterknecht have swept weekly baseball honors
for the Mid-Central Conference.
Schnur has been named MCC Pitcher of the Week and
Futterknecht has been named MCC Player of the Week for the
week ending Sun., April 6.
Schnur (Boonville, IN / Boonville H.S.) yielded just five
hits and 0 earned runs to secure two saves and a win
pitching for the Cougars.
Futterknecht (Elkhart, IN / Elkhart Central H.S.) helped
USF
to a 5-1 week. He extended his hitting streak to 7 games
with 10 hits in 19 at-bats for the week and has at least 1
RBI in his last 5 games. He connected for a 2-run HR in the
sixth inning that proved to be difference in an 8-7 win over
Grace and his 3 RBI in the game is the second time this
season he's had 3 RBI game this season. Five of his 10 hits
for week were for extra bases (4 2B, 1 HR) and he had an
.895 slugging pct. for the six games. This is his first MCC
Player of the Week award.
