SANFORD, Fla. -- Freshman Taylor Futterknecht clubbed his first collegiate home run and the first homer of the season for the University of Saint Francis, but 39th-ranked St. Xavier University used five USF errors to secure a 6-3 win in a nine-inning game.

  Futterknecht hit his homer in the seventh inning, a 3-run shot for USF. Chase Gaff (0-3) was the tough-luck loser on the mound for USF (3-6). Jon Saprosantos went 2-for-4 for USF with a double and a run scored.
