The Hutzell Fitness Center had its grand opening in the fall
semester of 2007. Located on the east side of Hutzell
Athletic Center, the facility houses an impressive variety of
workout equipment to help anyone reach their fitness goals.
The
University of Saint Francis is especially
grateful to Jim Shields, pictured on the right below, and
Ruth E. Jehl, pictured below on the left, for their generous
financial support which made the upgrade in equipment and
facilities possible.
The cardio section of the facility features treadmills,
elliptical trainers, bikes, and stair climbers. The facility
also includes Matrix pin select equipment that allows safe
lifting to build increased strength and ensures proper
technique for lifters of any age or experience level.
The
Matrix circuit includes a shoulder press, chest press,
chest/rear delt fly and a five stack machine that offers more
than 20 different exercises. Plate-loaded machines by
manufacturers such as York and Hammer Strength are also
available. These machines include a leg press, leg extension,
and a seated hamstring curl. The fitness center also offers a
wide selection of medicine and stability balls for improving.
The free weight section of the facility includes 10 power
racks and eight Olympic platforms. These workout stations
allow suitable space and safety for patrons to perform a wide
variety of exercises such as squats, bench press, and power
cleans. All power racks contain 0 to 90 degree bench
stations, pull-up bars, and dip stations. The free- weight
section also includes two dumbbell racks with weights ranging
from 5 to 125 pounds.
The
operation hours of the facility and rules and regulations are
posted on this web site. All patrons are encouraged to read
and understand the rules of the facility to ensure a safe and
productive environment.
