The University of Saint Francis has announced an open house on Thursday, May 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. (CDT) at the Marian Education Center in the St. Anthony Medical Center, Suites A and B, 1201 S. Main Street, Crown Point, Indiana.

During the open house, the public is welcome to view the university's facilities, meet faculty and students and learn about the programs and financial aid.

The Crown Point site began offering degree programs in 2007. During its first year of operation, a number of programs were added such as a Master of Science in Nursing--Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), a Master of Science in Nursing--Community Health and Education (CHE), an RN-MSN Transition Sequence, and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration (MHA). A new program for fall of 2009 will be a generic Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).

The academic programs at Crown Point are exactly the same as those run by the university at its main campus in Fort Wayne, and expectations are that additional programs from Fort Wayne will be added in Crown Point on a regular basis. In 2008, the university announced that it had purchased land in Crown Point for an eventual new building.

Crown Point programs may be completed through full or part time study and feature a variety of online and onsite delivery modes. For more information, phone the USF Crown Point site at 219-681-6800, email cpadm@sf.edu or visit online at www.sf.edu/CrownPoint

USF Crown Point sent their first National Student Nursing Association (NSNA) delegates to the NSNA convention in Nashville, Tennessee. Jeannette Anderson, Class of 2009 and Georgene Darnell Nursing Faculty liason for the Student Nursing Association (SNA) attended the conference which consisted of focused  learning sessions, exhibits and recruiters, social events and association activity seminars. As an Indiana state delegate, Jeannette was able to participate in voting on various submitted resolutions. This is just the beginning and we are looking forward to the Crown Point SNA participating in many future NSNA local, state and national meetings and events.
