The entire 2010 University of Saint Francis physician assistant class passed the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification examination on the first take. The NCCPA is the credentialing organization for physician assistants in the United States. [Read More]
The School of Creative Arts is offering a course by Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer and filmmaker David Turnley this semester. Turnley won a Pulitzer for his coverage of all the revolutions in 1989, including the fall of the Berlin Wall and Tiananmen Square in China, and has been runner-up for the prize four other times. Documentary Storytelling with David Turnley concentrates on documentary photography and film, with an emphasis on storytelling. [Read More]
The restoration of Brookside, formerly the Bass mansion on the Fort Wayne campus, earned an ARCHIE Award from Architecture and Community Heritage Inc. (ARCH) of Fort Wayne at a design and preservation awards celebration in November. Brookside took the Outstanding Restoration Award in the institutional category for the $5.9 million restoration of the former home of industrialist John Henry Bass, which is now a historical resource for the community and a university administrative building. A University of Saint Francis business team Knows the formula for business success, and they picked up a $7,000 first prize in the fourth annual Keith E. Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership student business plan competition in November to prove it. IKnow, an interactive children's book for the iPad, was the brainstorm of sophomore Danny Dellinger and juniors Michael Scher and Bret Arthur. [Read More]
University of Saint Francis student-athletes continued excellence in the classroom as well as on courts and fields during the fall semester. The combined grade point average for all USF varsity student-athletes was 3.14 on a 4.0 scale. [Read More]
